Heightened Awareness and Vandals

Dear Homeowners:

This year has brought a rash of smashed mailboxes, broken car windows and other property damage. In fact, just this month residents of our own neighborhood were arrested by police for alleged drug possession and smashing car windows. These residents live within two blocks of a well-used elementary school bus stop!

We realize that the perpetrators of this kind of criminal mischief are difficult (but not impossible) to catch as they typically do their damage after midnight. Nonetheless, you can help a great deal by calling the police when you do see these destructive folks in action. If you prefer, you can even make an anonymous call. The police will ask for identifying information like a physical description of the intruder or their car, license plate numbers or other unique identifying information.

Please help keep our neighborhood safe and damage-free. Pay attention to what goes on as you walk and drive around our neighborhood and report any criminal mischief to the police.
